Important facts
The Seiko Prospex SNE545P1 is applied with a hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary glass technology. It is more scratch resistant than plexiglass and less expensive than sapphire, therefore a good choice for mid range wristwatches.
This watch has a screw-down crown which ensures a much better water resistance by providing a tighter seal between the crown and the case. This keeps moisture or dust from entering the watch case, which could otherwise cause damage to the movement. This also helps to prevent accidental adjustment of the time or date. The screw-down feature makes it more difficult for the crown to be accidentally turned, reducing the risk of incorrect timekeeping. Also, it is a reassuring feel to tighten the crown by screwing it down.
This timepiece is a dive watch, meaning it was designed and built specifically for underwater use. All dive watches need to have water resistance of at least 20 bar / 200 meters, legibility in low-light conditions, a timing feature (e.g.: rotating bezel), running indicator and corrosion resistance.
